In modern logistics and warehousing, the hydraulic dock leveler is the critical link that bridges the gap between warehouse floors and truck beds. Key Structural Components & Their Functions
Tongue Plate The extendable lip that creates a safe, level bridge between the dock and truck bed. Made from thick anti-slip steel (typically 16 mm), it features a durable patterned surface for forklift and pallet-jack traction.
Hinge Heavy-duty pivot point connecting the tongue plate to the main deck. It allows smooth, controlled extension and retraction while maintaining alignment under load.
Hydraulic Rod (Single Cylinder) The heart of the lifting system. This single hydraulic cylinder delivers powerful, precise upward and downward force. Combined with safety velocity fuses, it prevents sudden drops and ensures controlled movement.
Motor The electric motor drives the hydraulic pump. One-button operation makes the entire platform quick to raise or lower (≤30 seconds full travel).
Front & Rear Structural Plates The primary load-bearing deck surface. Fabricated from high-strength steel, they form the walking and driving surface for material-handling equipment.
Side Plate Side enclosures that add lateral rigidity and protect internal components from damage.
Reinforcing Ribs (Upper & Lower) Strategically welded ribs dramatically increase bending resistance. They allow the platform to handle dynamic loads up to 6.8 T and static loads up to 13.6 T without deflection.
Channel Steel Base The heavy-duty foundation frame built from channel steel. It distributes weight evenly and provides torsional rigidity for long-term stability.
Support Foot & Tongue Plate Support Sturdy feet keep the unit firmly positioned in the pit; the tongue-plate support adds extra stability when the lip is extended.
How the Single-Cylinder System Works
